Haiku of Michelle Kafka
Chinese petals droop
how dismal they look to me
sun shines, petals wake.
Native woman teach
me to understand your ways
show me earth's beauty.
Apple tree standing
sweetness reaching to the stars
mama's apple pie.
High-heeled shoe running,
running away from danger
on a moonlit night.
Morning embraces
coffee and toast on the go
mother and child.
Grasses reaching up
evening lull of bush warbler
cool evening downpour.
Wet hands touch the stem
reflections in the petals
slippery rain coat.
